Christy and Carly both have a long history with A Wrinkle in Time. As elder millennials, there were not many books featuring young, female protagonists to admire. In this conversation, they talk about the responsibility to look at evil in the world and to fight it. Because this book was written in the ‘60s, they also talk about boomer experiences and millennial experiences as related to the dystopian Camazotz.
This book features very smart, young characters. This book makes you feel smart. Yet smartness is not the most important thing and overconfidence in your intelligence can make you a tool for evil.
